Aluminum wiring was used from the late 1960’s to the late 1970’s.

Older wiring devices (switches and receptacles) were not rated for the aluminum wiring; because of this the aluminum wires attached to the devices became a dangerous fire hazard. The aluminum wire expands and contracts.

Vuta Electrical and Lighting has been repairing and pig-tailing aluminum wires to copper wires in many homes for years.

Most electricians do not know how to work with aluminum wire. Our electricians have had special training and know that aluminum and copper wiring cannot be joined together with any connector. We do not use any wire connectors.
